Fruit and Vegetables Vocabulary Charts and Worksheets (Free PDF)

As part of my ongoing mission to support English teachers around the world, I continue to share free printable vocabulary resources designed especially for children learning English as a second or foreign language (ESL/EFL).

These vocabulary materials are all created by me and tested with young learners to make sure they are both engaging and effective. Each printable is crafted with care to help kids build a strong English vocabulary through visual charts and fun activities.

Today, I’m happy to share a brand-new vocabulary project dedicated to the fruits and vegetables topic! It includes colorful vocabulary charts and matching worksheets to help kids memorize 72 words related to fruits, vegetables, berries, nuts, and more.

Summer Song for Kids

As the spring comes to an end and we are heading into the summer, it’s a great time for my little student to pick up some summer vocabulary right before they leave the kindergarten for vacations and the future school year.

My favorite way to introduce the new vocabulary and help kids memorize words is, of course, song singing. Since I teach English as second language to preschoolers who oftentimes have hard time speaking even their native language, I use extremely simple songs. Sometimes my English teaching songs have no rhyme because, as I believe, when it comes to teaching language to little kids rhyme is not as important as the beat, activities and movements children do while singing.

So I would like to share my song about summer. Summer is a wonderful season full of fun, and every child looks forward to enjoying long summer days, nice weather and vacation somewhere by the seaside, in the forests or elsewhere. In this song I tried to convey the atmosphere of the season so that the children have fun singing and learning new words. And as I said this song is one of my extremely simple songs because it was specially created for little kids who have just begun learning English or even those who have never studied English before. You too, dear fellow teachers, can use this song during your standard lessons as well as during summer school or a summer camp program.

Summer Sun Craft for Toddlers

In summer the Sun is shining brightly in the sky, so we’d like to suggest you making a Sun craft.
This is a very simple paper craft for a little kid who only learns how to use paper, glue and scissors. You can create this craft in one of spring or summer days.

While making this craft your child will learn about:
  • blue and yellow colors;
  • star shape;
  • stripes and paper ball;
  • life in the sea.

You’ll also help your kid develop:
  • fine motor skills;
  • hand-eye coordination;
  • sense of space;
  • imagination;
  • creativity;
  • emotional intelligence;

For this craft you’ll need the following:
  • blue, yellow, red and purple construction paper;
  • scissors;
  • glue or a glue stick;
  • a pencil;
  • a marker;
  • wiggle eyes (if you wish).
