Printable Alphabet Coloring Pages (Letters A - J)

Coloring pages are one of the most popular children's pastimes. No doubt, love for coloring can serve as a cognition catalyst. Besides being entertaining, coloring pages are a great tool to be used to help kids ease into the learning process and ensure a smooth transition from a nonchalant childhood playtime to studying new things and preparing for early school. Since we are talking about preschool and elementary school students, there should be a high demand for printable alphabet coloring pages among ESL teachers. Because, obviously, the ABC is the first step to start studying a language. And there is a global trend to begin learning English as early as possible.

As I have already written in my earlier posts, the key to success in teaching English to little kids is fun and engaging lessons. That's why games and popular activities like coloring are always welcome in the classroom. Not only they help young students efficiently memorize letters and vocabulary early in the course of learning languages but also they are a part of a very important process of nurturing love for learning. From the practical point of view, alphabet coloring pages are extremely useful for kids whose mother tongue does not use the Latin alphabet. Children in Asian countries, those in Russia and Arabic countries must experience extra difficulties while learning the English ABC.

Fortunately fine-motor activities involved in coloring stimulate brain and thus improve memory of kids. Coloring alphabet will definitely help them better recognize English letters and words starting with them. That is why coloring is one of indispensable activities in my English teaching practice. I teach English to children whose native language is Cyrillic and therefore many English letters look unfamiliar to them. I believe the problem is even more acute for teachers working in Korea, China, Japan and many Arabic countries. Memorizing the English letters must be a challenge for young learners out there. Therefore printable alphabet coloring pages are the must to make learning the ABC a fun and easy activity for both students and educators.

I searched for alphabet coloring pages in Google but I did not like many of available images. Many of them are not simple enough for little kids. Therefore I decided to create my own printable coloring sheets. I also added traceable words to boost children's motor skills as well as vocabulary memorization and word/letters recognition abilities. So here are coloring pages for the first ten letters of the English alphabet:

Letter Tracing Worksheets (Letters K - T)

This is my second post featuring free printable letter tracing worksheets. This one includes worksheets for letters K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T. I want to offer ESL teachers some worksheets to help their students practice handwriting and learn another 10 letters of the English alphabet. No need to look for online letter tracing worksheet generator as my ready-made sheets are enough for teaching kids to write English letters.

Hopefully, these printable alphabet tracing worksheets will save teachers' time and add more interest to their English classes. Besides uppercase and lowercase letters, I added cute coloring pictures to the sheets for little kids to get a little bit distracted if they are bored or tired of handwriting. So obviously my alphabet tracing worksheets are especially good for preschoolers and early school children. And I hope both educators and their students will enjoy working with the printable handwriting pages I designed for them.

Letter Tracing Worksheets (Letters A - J)

Letter tracing worksheets are the first thing to be used by English teachers introducing the alphabet to kids. They are especially indispensable for ESL teachers working with preschoolers in countries with non-Latin languages where letters considerably differ from the English ABC. Children in China, Japan, Korea and Arabic countries are likely to require more time to get used to English ABC and train themselves to write letters. They need more practice and letter tracing worksheets can be a great help in developing their basic handwriting and letter recognition skills.

I've decided to help educators teach children how to write English alphabet. So I've designed printable letter tracing worksheets that teachers can hand out to little students and ask them to trace uppercase and lowercase letters. To make the alphabet writing practice even more fun I've added coloring images starting with a letter to be traced. This makes the worksheets usable even for kindergarten where coloring is a popular activity for small kids with a short attention span.

I hope teachers will like my alphabet tracing worksheets and they help them with the teaching process. And I hope kids will like them too. This post contains letter tracing worksheets for the first 10 letters of the English alphabet (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J).

Forest Animals Coloring Pages and Flashcards

As I promised in my previous post about my forest animals song I would like to share some flashcards and coloring pages based on the song.

I always show flashcards to my pupils while learning the song. A teacher can leverage visuals such as flashcards to make the process of learning a foreign language easier and more enjoyable for little kids. I offer you two sets of flashcards. One set includes cards with images and words written on the same picture. Another set of flashcards includes cards with images only while the words are written on separate cards. The latter set can be used for matching pictures with words or for any other game or activity you may invent for your little students or own children.
