My printable flashcards use simplified Chinese and therefore they can serve as a great resource for EFL and ESL teachers working with kids in mainland China (people in Hong Kong and Taiwan mainly use traditional Chinese, so my flashcards may be not good for those regions).

I keep on publishing printable English-Chinese flashcards featuring wild animals. This blog post offers another 10 animal flashcards for ESL and EFL teachers teaching English to Chinese speakers or those teaching Chinese to English speakers. I'm sure these colorful flashcards will make it easier for Chinese kids to remember English words that may look as strange and difficult for them as Chinese characters look to people from Europe and America. Those cards helps English teachers understand a little bit of Chinese too as they contain the pinyin transcription of Chinese words. This may help teachers that speak no Chinese better understand students' responses and evaluate whether they memorize the English vocabulary correctly. I'm starting with wild animals flashcards because are the most beloved creatures for the kids around the globe. There are so many animated movies and children's books about animals that it makes lots of sense to start learning English with names of animals. So here they are another 10 English-Chinese flashcards featuring the following wild animals: a cheetah, a crocodile, a deer, a dinosaur, an elephant, a fox, a giraffe, a hedgehog, a hippo, and a kangaroo.

Animals are a popular topic for English classes for kids. Lots of children’s stories feature animals. There are many cute toys in the form of animals that kids love so much. So kids get acquainted with animals from the earliest ages. That is why ESL teachers introduce the animals vocabulary to preschoolers and elementary school students to begin learning English.

Being a fast developing economy, China badly needs as many citizens who can speak decent English as possible. My husband used to study French in a Foreign Language Institute as a second foreign language. He used to teach French at school and even worked in France for a while. So he helped me to create this set of printable English French flashcards.

English-French flashcards are designed in different colors depending on the gender of French nouns

When designing English-French flashcards, I also thought about educators who might want to use this visual teaching material to teach French to English speakers. That is why I have designed flashcards in three different colors depending on the gender of French words: red for feminine French nouns, blue for masculine French nouns and magenta for French nouns that can be both feminine and masculine (e.g., professions).

English Spanish Flashcards

An ESL teacher from Mexico sent me a message once asking whether I was interested in making English-Spanish flashcards to help educators in Spanish-speaking countries teach English to kids. Being an ESL teacher myself, I loved the idea of bilingual flashcards. So I decided to create a series of printable bilingual flashcards starting with the English-Spanish ones as a tribute to the Mexican teacher who gave me this wonderful idea.

Spanish is a great language to focus on when starting my cause of creating bilingual ESL materials for teachers all over the world. It is estimated that there are some 480 millions of native Spanish speakers which makes Spanish the world’s second most spoken native language. The geography and economic connections of the majority of Spanish-speaking countries dictate make learning English a strategic necessity for their population as their English-speaking neighbors are their major trading partners and sources of tourists. In many cases the ability to speak English can be vital for people’s career in such countries as Mexico. The United States is Mexico’s biggest trading partner buying almost 80% of total Mexican exports. The number 2 trading partner is another English-speaking country — Canada. The USA is the top trading partner also for Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala and some other Hispanic countries of Latin America.
