Happy Halloween, everyone!!! It's the last day of the Halloween season and I'd like to show you the last printable resource related to the holiday that have not yet shared on this blog. It is the printable bingo game.

The Halloween kit this bingo game belongs to includes 15 printable bingo cards. So it is enough to organize a fun bingo game with a relatively large group of kids. My students love this kind of games. Activities like this are great for memorizing the vocabulary. As a rule, I use the bingo and domino games at the end of the period I dedicate to Halloween in order to revise and strengthen what student have learned.

I use my printable games as a special treat for my students at the final stage of learning the topic vocabulary. My students love playing dominoes and bingo while learning English. Playing games makes English classes more fun, engaging and thrilling for kids who get excited by the possibility to play and win. I divide the class into groups to play and compete. The bingo game is not only an interesting activity in the context of English language gamification, but also as a technique that trains students’ brains to understand the vocabulary by ear. The teacher calls out words, and kids must understand a word and associate it with the object it means as quickly as possible. This activity will help students better parse English speech as they advance in learning the language.

Playing games is the happiest pastime for every kid. That’s why I use games for my English classes to consolidate the vocabulary at the final stage of learning a topic. Bingo is one of my students’ favorite games. The game makes them very excited about the chance of being a winner. This excitement generates the thrill of competition and lots of emotions. As a rule I design two types of printable games to help my students consolidate the topic vocabulary: dominoes and bingo. Printable Transportation Bingo Game

Bingo is a game I often use along with dominoes for my English classes. The activity helps consolidate the vocabulary at the final stage of a topic. Today I’m publishing some of my printable transportation bingo cards.

The kit includes 4 types of worksheets, flashcards, dominoes game and bingo game

The rules are simple: the teacher draws the vocabulary cards from a bag or box to announce the words. Students have to cover the corresponding images on their transportation bingo cards with chips. The winners are those who are the first to cover a horizontal line, a vertical line or all the available pictures on a bingo card depending on the rules you decide to follow.

ESL Christmas Bingo Game

I have designed printable 5-by-5 grid cards for the Christmas bingo game that ESL teachers can use to help students consolidate the vocabulary introduced with my Christmas flashcards. This is my second favorite game after dominoes that I often play with kids I teach English to. Bingo is definitely the number one game by how much fun and excitement it can bring to the classroom.

The Christmas bingo rules are similar to those of traditional bingo. But instead of numbers there are pictures corresponding to words that kids have already learned with the help of my Christmas flashcards, crossword and word search puzzles, word and picture matching worksheets and dominoes game. Just as traditional cards my Christmas bingo card has a free space in the center. The teacher acts as an announcer calling out random words from small word cards that published bellow in this post. Those cards contain 46 English nouns from the Christmas vocabulary. There are a few additional words for synonyms (e.g., Christmas ball - Christmas bauble, gift - present, decoration - ornaments) and British variations of the word “sweater” (pullover, jumper). The goal is to fill a horizontal, vertical or diagonal pattern of five grid spaces on the card. Kids can either use a marker or chips (also published below) to mark the spaces that match the word called out by the teacher. Players can agree to continue playing until someone covers all the pictures on a card (full house).

Fruits and Berries Song for Kids (+ Counting to 10)

Summer is a wonderful season of harvesting fruits, berries and vegetables. Lots of people around the world celebrate the harvest and the end of the field work season in late summer and in the beginning of autumn. It's an important event and a great topic for English lessons with kids. After all, the majority of children adore fruits and berries, so learning their names in English could be really exciting for them. That's why I decided to create a “Fruit and Berries Counting Song”. Singing this song, kids can fancy themselves gathering fruits and berries in a garden. And this is kind of a song with the added value as it teaches not only the fruits and berries vocabulary but also counting to ten. And as usual I asked my husband to create an animated cartoon for this song for me to make learning fruits and berries more engaging. This is the third song where you can here the voice of my 3-years old son who also learns English using my teaching materials. So here is the resulting video:

Deep in the Ocean, Deep in the Sea - Song for Kids

Summer is a wonderful time for relaxing somewhere at the seaside or on an ocean beach. Children love having fun and playing on the sand and in the water. But the most fascinating thing about sea is the underwater world with all amazing sea creatures and seaweeds. That’s why I've created a song entitled "Deep in the Ocean, Deep in the Sea" for your children or young students to learn the ocean animals vocabulary and admire the life under the sea. This song can be useful for teaching English as the second language to children of all ages. Preschool and kindergarten kids can enrich their knowledge about the sea by learning the names of sea animals and training their spelling in English while primary school children can improve their English speaking skills by doing the different tasks that I would like to share with you in this and some future posts.

The second set consists of flashcards with pictures and small cards on which words are printed. You can organize different playing activities with your kids, for example, matching words and pictures to bring up a positive attitude towards studying foreign languages.
