Homophones Worksheets and Posters

As an English teacher, I am always looking for ways to help my students expand their vocabulary and improve their language skills. One way I have found to be particularly effective is teaching homophones. Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings, such as "write" and "right", "son" and "sun", or "I" and "eye". Learning homophones can expand students' vocabulary and improve their spelling and grammar skills.

Feelings & Emotions Posters and Flashcards

I have designed 3 printable posters and a bunch of flashcards to integrate them into my English classes dedicated to feelings, emotions, and mood. The posters and flashcards depict 48 feelings, emotions and states of mind using images of kids that look like Pixar cartoon characters. It’s probably the biggest feelings and emotions chart you can find on printables designed to help EFL and ESL students develop a richer emotional vocabulary.

Food and Drinks Vocabulary Posters

There will be a lot of holidays and celebrations till the end of the year. And the best attribute of any holiday is, of course, tasty food. Besides major holidays such as Thanksgiving Day and Christmas, there are also a few celebrations dedicated to food according to my classroom calendar. These are National Sandwich Day on November 3, National Cake Day on November 26, National Cookie Day on December 4, and National Cupcake Day on December 15. We usually talk a lot about food with my students these days and I display my printable food and drinks vocabulary posters on the classroom walls.

Irregular Verb Charts - Printable Posters

Irregular verbs are one of the most challenging aspects of English grammar for non-native speakers and especially for kids. There are a lot of irregular verbs along with their confusing forms in English which makes it impossible for young students to memorize them quickly and easily. When I was at school I had to learn lists of irregular verbs and their past simple and past participle forms by heart. But it was hard to hold them in my memory for a long time anyway. It was a boring and painful experience. Now, being an English teacher, I ask myself what I can do to help kids memorize common irregular verbs without turning the process into a torture for their brains. And as you know, my go-to method of teaching English vocabulary to children is visualizing things. You might have already seen my irregular verb flashcards and puzzles. And recently I decided to design printable irregular verb charts in the form of posters incorporating pictures to visualize 100 verbs.

The upcoming school year is getting closer and I have designed a set of printable worksheets that I’m going to use for my English classes to help my students memorize some useful words related to school such as classroom objects, school supplies and school subjects. The worksheets offer kids some simple exercises that make them learn the new vocabulary fast, easily remember the words and their spelling. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Activities

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is one of the children's books that I frequently use for my English classes with kids who learn English as a foreign language. The book is short and simple enough to read with elementary school students. Educators and parents read the story of the very hungry caterpillar with preschoolers and even toddlers in English speaking countries. However, since I teach English to children who are just starting to learn English, I mostly use the book for my classes with 1st graders. And I have designed some printable activities, worksheets, flashcards, and a poster to get the maximum out of the book as an EFL teacher. As the readers of my blog know, I do my best to make my English classes as fun as possible for my young students. I designed this printable 12-page activity book to be used for my English classes dedicated to prepositions of place. The PDF-based book features exercises that help elementary learners practice usage of such prepositions as on, in, under (below), behind, in front of, between, next to (beside), near, above. The worksheets also help me introduce the there is / there are structure to kids as well as revise the verb to be in the third person.

The preposition worksheets include matching activities, filling in the blanks exercises, multiple choice exercises and some others. I hope my fellow EFL and ESL teachers will find my printable prepositions worksheets useful for their classes too. Indefinite Articles Worksheets: A or An?

Indefinite articles a and an are one of the first grammar concepts my young students learn about in my English classes. It’s not an easy concept for them to comprehend as their native language does not have articles at all. The need to use different articles depending on the first sound of the following word does not make the concept easier for my elementary school students. That’s why we have to pay a special attention to English articles and practice their usage. And to make it more fun, I have designed 15 printable worksheets to organize initial practice activities for the kids.

As usual, I used a lot of child-appealing pictures to design these a/an articles worksheets. Not only do they help students better understand the grammar concept and practice usage of indefinite articles, they also help them memorize some useful words and expand their English vocabulary.
